What Counts as Ink Waste?
Not every milliliter of ink becomes a sellable transfer. Production records can include ink used for maintenance and unsuccessful prints.

- Failed or unusable transfers

How to Get a More Accurate Ink Cost

How do I calculate sublimation ink cost per print?
Divide the ink purchase price by the total ink volume to get your cost per ml. Multiply that number by the ml of ink used for one print. For better real-world costing, divide the cost of ink consumed during a production period by the number of usable transfers produced.
Should cleaning cycles be included in ink cost?
Yes, if you are calculating actual business cost. Cleaning, nozzle checks, test prints and other normal maintenance consume ink even though they do not create a sellable transfer.
Does print size affect sublimation ink cost?
Print size can affect cost, but coverage, saturation, printer settings and artwork also matter. A large design with plenty of white space may use less ink than a smaller design with dense full-color coverage.
Can I use this calculator for Epson EcoTank and Sawgrass printers?
